Is it possible to be fictionkin with a human character? I keep seeing kin posts only talking about non-humans, and I’m sort of new to exploring this sort if thing, and I believe my kin might be human also, so I was just wondering.

Yes, you can be fictionkin of a human character (i am). The only difference is that you are then not also ‘otherkin’. Otherkin are non-human only.

I’m sorry, but is it considered ableist to be kin to, say, a blind character if you are not legally blind? I heard somebody saying this on another kin advice blog (they told people to ‘stop being kin with them’ if they’re not disabled/abused/etc.) and I just? No?? I’m sure that’s wrong, but I wanted to check with an expert before I called them out on it.

You can’t stop being kin, and being kin is never ‘ableist’.

is it fictionkin if you’re kin with a non-canon character? like, an oc of sorts? i have a bunch of memories of interacting with canon characters, but when it comes to my memories of myself, i’m a non-canon character, but i have a different name and story and an entire life in that universe, it’s just not canon, if that makes sense.
