How can you be born with the soul of a fictional character, when it’s a fictional character? and what if someone was born 20 years ago, and claims to be fictionkin with someone from a show made a year ago? How does that work?

I, and most other fictionkin, believe in what is known as ‘multiverse theory’.

Multiverse theory is the idea that every possible universe that could exist, does exist, all at the same ‘time’, all parallel to one another. There is a universe for every single possibility, including universe that in our world appear as fiction.

Due to the ‘butterfly effect’ if you go back far enough in the creation of the universe, subtle changes in the very beginning of time can result in worlds with radically different physical properties than our universe. Worlds where magic exist, where other species evolves as sentient, etc etc.

I do not believe that I, or anyone else (in this world) creates universes by writing. I believe that the multiverse is ALREADY infinite, and therefore anything that one can write already exists somewhere in the multiverse.

It’s sort of like writing a character named Bob who’s a fisherman, and has brown hair, and then you find out that two towns over there’s a guy you never met named Bob who is a fisherman with brown hair. But much, much more specific  and detailed, because of multiverse/infinity.

The show that depicts the character of Ken Ichijouji didn’t come out until I was a preteen in this universe, but it existed before that, and I lived my entire life as Ken before I was born in this universe. Amusingly enough because of timeline shenanigans, I was actually born ‘earlier’ in this universe than the previous universe. Ken was born around 1989, and I was born in 1986.
