Spiritually speaking it can be considered desirable to process the emotional baggage of our past until it no longer holds us back, and we are able to focus on our present self, and future self improvement.

I don’t mean that focusing on your kinself is ‘immature’ in terms of mental development, rather that being focused on it means you’re still emotionally/spiritually processing the past.

I would like to respectfully disagree, on the grounds that I use the moral and ethical system of my past life to make sense of this one. I consider the way my people lived to be an upstanding and inspired way of life. Is this not spiritually desirable or mature? I have never found a belief system from this world that works for me, yet the Gallifreyan Tradition has helped me become so much closer to my ideal self.

Totally fair. I was just presenting one point of view, which I hoped would help encourage someone who felt invalid and abnormal for wanting to move on from their kin life.
