I wonder if the majority of Tumblr otherkin realize that outside of Tumblr in the community that has existed since the 90′s and knows it’s shit, that they’re referred to as a problem and very often mocked.
Not all of them are a problem though. Unfortunately the ones who are a problem are the loudest, and children who are trying to understand what’s going on with their own otherkin experiences are hearing the wrong things. You can’t blame the kids who are being mislead. It’s a case of the blind leading the blind, and they speak with confidence and authority so children who don’t know any better don’t realize they have no idea what they’re talking about.
Mocking them doesn’t solve anything, and telling them they’re being mocked is only going to drive them away from the places they can get accurate information.
