I’m a soulbond who is a prince back in my home world, and honestly, I use “royaltykin” as a blanket term like the other anon, but I’ve found that it really doesn’t help on tumblr because, like you said, most of the people on this site who use the term “royaltykin” aren’t actually kin with anyone who was or is royalty, you know? It’d be nice to connect with someone who shared similar responsibilities to mine, but it’s pretty hard to do on this site thanks to those spoiled kids.

I’m sorry to hear about that, anon. Maybe try creating a network for fictionkin, whose kintypes were also royalty, instead of stressing royalkin?

I’ve heard the term Aeslink or Aestheticlink for people who identify with purely surface level characteristics of a character (ie their clothes, their mannerisms, essentially their “aesthetic”) Is this an okay term to use?

In response to previous anon, I totally get what you mean! For both of my kintypes I used to dream and wish that I could be a part of their world and not this one. I would constantly imagine myself with the other characters in there, and it was such a relief to realise I was kin?

You know it’s funny, I could never figure out why I had SUCH a strong connection to this one show, to the point that I felt like I belonged in that world and could never get it out of my mind and felt nostalgic thinking about it… until this one character shows up in a later season and it turns out I’m kin with them, and suddenly it all makes sense.

Couldn’t you pose that argument about animals though? That any animal could think it’s a different one if it’s raised by another one? Like dogs raised by cats, humans raised by dogs, etc? So there’s no validity unless you remember seeing your own reflection and being able to recognize the animal now?

Royalty specifically does come with a kind of specific worldview and expectations on how to be treated and treat others, similar to divinity in it’s own right. Idk if it’d technically be kin but I can kind of envision what someone might be saying when they mean royalkin.

What’s your opinion on people who are kin of concepts, like “royalkin”? This was prompted by the person claiming to be “princesskin”… I don’t understand how someone can be “kin” of a social/economic class. Remembering a kin life where you, an individual, were a part of that social class, and highly identifying with the experience of being that class, sure. But claiming to be “royalkin”, to me, is no different than saying you’re “poorkin” and that’s kind of fucked up imho. What do you think?
