Hello there! I’m new to kin and I have a few questions of you don’t mind answering them! question 1) I think I might kin with a character and I’m not quite sure but I have extremely strong feelings toward said character and I’m not sure how to go about them. What does this mean? Question 2) Is it normal, when kinning, to think “that’s me!” when you see a character you have strong feelings toward? Regarding “xenomnesia”: It’s possible you have a mental connection with a character. Or empathic. Some kind of connection that let you share thoughts or memories. Or maybe even: Is there any kind of otherkin “vessel” concept in use? Channeling someone? Or having them give you thoughts/memories somehow? (I’m an empath, and I know a lot of my synpath [non-kin, but very deeply understanding] connections have this effect on me, especially my primary “soulbond”.)

Absolutely. There’s lots of reasons that this phenomenon could occur. Fictionflickers come to mind too as a possible source for xenomnesia.

I think it’s cool how you treat people with weird kintypes with the same respect you’d treat anyone else. I’ve seen “elders” in the kin community talk about how they’d reject people whose kintypes were too “out there”, and I think that’s incredibly unfair. I mean, nobody HAS to accept anyone else, but… it’s just really hypocritical, you know? Even those “good” and “allowable” kintypes are batshit to people outside of the community.
