On terminology
I’d just avoid any specific references to another headmate, myself. Or at least, not make it tied to a single person in the system. It’s too connected to with the idea that fictives are only experienced by others and not agentive people in their own right. So maybe, like:
- Typically do not experience an “awakening”, rather just appear rather suddenly [to others in the system].
- Presence is not typically felt before someone else in the system experiences the source material.
- Typically fictives can have internal conversations with other fictives / headmates.
etc.
Not that I think the way you phrased it is Inherently Bad or anything. Being picky about words and their connotations is literally my job. :V
