recently i’ve noticed a schism in the otherkin/fictionkin community. a lot of people use the same labels, but have very differing experiences! so some similar-minded people and i came up with a new label to help describe our experience of being kin: identickin.
beings who are identickin fit the following:
- are/were the entity they’re kin of
- expect memories even if they don’t have them yet
- are/were multiple entities from one canon only if the identities mixed in-canon
- use beliefs similar to multiverse theory and/or reincarnation to explain their kin experience
- are not a headmate
- are not kin as a result of a mental illness/coping mechanism
disclaimer: this is NOT negating the experiences of people who don’t fit this label! you are still fictionkin/otherkin if you don’t fit this label. you’re also welcome to spin off this label to fit you (i.e. something like identicfictive).
