In light of what happened today, I’d like to remind older folks, and direct new kin alike, to the wiki page on Draven (currently going by the url high-class-demon-commander).
Draven has a long history of emotional abuse and manipulation. Felix over at fromfiction has, from the look of things, been their latest indirect victim. As another long-timer in the kin communities and who has known Felix for almost that entire time, I can vouch for the fact that the shitstorm regarding this chat can be traced back to Draven, once again. Doing what they do best. And that Felix was just unlucky enough to have been caught in it, targeted, and pushed into a negative reaction that ended up hurting multiple people. On non-anonymous request, I can verify.
This is mostly just a PSA for anyone still on the fence, but I also wanna take a sec to remind people that Jarandhel hosts a weekly otherkin chat, and I might be able to open one up myself along with @potsmash. Which may or may not be fictionkin-centered for variety’s sake. Needless to say that Draven, and anyone known to associate with Draven would not be allowed in, especially after what occurred here.
You absolutely can, and should, reblog this if possible and comfortable.
I don’t want to belabor this, and I’ve already said my piece but thanks to everyone who has had my back, and understood my position.
I’m a firm believer in everyone deserving second chances, but even I know there is a limit, and people who have crossed that limit repeatedly need to be avoided.
I was initially misled as to the scope of the individual in question’s behavior. Had I been more fully informed, I would not have reacted in the manner I did, but what’s done is done.
