Firstly, let’s look at definition of the word ‘Valid’:
As you can see it specifically states that it is a basis in logic or FACT.
The whole of the otherkin community knows, or should know that the otherkin belief is not fact, and it’s certainly not ‘legally or officially acceptable’. There is no proof our belief is true, we have no founding evidence, we have no solid facts to show that otherkin is valid.
And by saying someone’s otherkin identity is valid, you are preventing them from being skeptical.
You are preventing people from questioning themselves by being too fluffy, by coddling them and saying they’re valid when you don’t even know the definition of the word.
Otherkin like most beliefs should be respected, but by definition we are not valid.
Non-human identities are legitimate, but valid they are not…not yet anyhow.
