i heard of a kinshift thing called a “cameo shift” where you shift to something you arent kin with– Is that possible for fictionkin?? i think yesterday i shifted to a character i knew from canon but i don’t think im kin with them too?
The definition of a cameo shift is when you experience a shift into the state of someone who is not among your kintypes/kinselves.
Personally, I have not experienced any cameo shifts, and I’m not sure where they fit in the kin identity/experience.
I’ve only ever experienced it with a person I’m very… emotionally and in some ways spiritually close to. It doesn’t feel much different from a regular shift, but there’s a splinter of a difference that tells you it’s not quite yourself.
Considering mine have only been astral shifts, my theory is that anyone with a nonphysical body (kin or not) would be able to experience it, and fictionkin would be included there. I mean, if it’s happening to you, then it’s happening.
