Okay, now that’s just fucking ridiculous. Are you sure you understand what psychology is?
I mean to be fair, the burden of proof does in fact fall on the believers. However, Russel’s Teapot is also implied towards groups of people who wish to construct a faith pillar as empirical fact.
In terms of kin, it is our responsibility to provide proof if we wish to establish it as an “objective” truth. But since we mind our own business, this angers the hornet’s nest of trolls.
Exactly, that’s the thing I can’t stand. None of us are out there claiming proof of anything. All of this is subjective. Different nonhumans can’t even get along with each other based on differing viewpoints, so the idea that we’re organized and wanting to be legitimized en masse is absurd. And the few fluffybunny extremists who do think they have proof are looked down on and asked the same thing by everyone else. “Prove it.”
It’s like we’re all having a private conversation in the corner and people keep fucking interrupting, and when we tell them to stop doing that they have temper tantrums and spin it so that their interruptions are our fault. People like that have no tact or boundaries and are just slimy individuals all around.
