Tumblrkin really need to stop comparing kin stuff to gender as an argument (“otherkin is like gender, and you can pick your gender!”) I know you think it’s super clever to call real otherkin “truscum” for knowing what our communities are about. And yeah, it’s transphobic. Gender is a culturally imposed system and you can in fact chose to experiment with it, as you can also chose to experiment with your sexuality. Kin identity is not, and while you can chose to explore any feelings and curiosity you might have, you can’t just become otherkin because you really like something. To use your own stupid logic against you, it’s like how thinking boys are really cool doesn’t turn you into one.
Stop equating kin id to gender id. It doesn’t add up, and it’s transphobic. Homophobic when you throw sexuality in there with it, too. You can’t compare totally irrelevant subjects to something just to force your twisted logic on it. An internet subculture like otherkin is not and never will be comparable to the global, myriad human experiences of gender and sexuality, ever. Have some freakin respect.
