I really hate how people keep talking about how people can be kin any way they want, because some of the things they call kin are not kin.
Yes the community can change and all and no it does not have to stay the same but at this point many of the things being called kin are things that are not it.
Yes there is more than one way to be kin but that does not mean the term can be stuck on anything you want it to. It has a specific meaning. Which is to identify AS something not WITH.
These new way of being kin are not helpful to the community and just confuse things. The term is not meant to be bent into whatever you want it to be bent into.
Guys this is not a positive change in the community, it is not making anyway of using kin be a good thing is not positive it is hurtful to many and will just lead people wrong.
Positive changes are things like the community being accepting of polykin, unlike how they used to be looked down on. Or fictionkin being looked down on less.
Please don’t use the term to describe identifying with as it is not the same thing, although someone can be both hearted and kin with something. But the two experiences are not the same and should not be put under the same label then be claimed to be change in the community or just a different way of being kin.
