What kin is:
- Feeling as if you are or were once them
- That “literally me” and ID stuff is the exact same thing as kin
- It’s literally the same thing, there is no hierarchy of IDs/literally mes being “above” kin
- You can have stronger or weaker connections to certain kintypes and if you wish to categorize them depending on that that’s cool but IDs/literally mes are not above the concept of kin as a whole please stop saying “these are not kintypes” if you believe you are them or were them they are definitely kintypes
- Having specific memories of being them
- Not having specific memories of being them but feeling as though you ARE them
Things that are not kin:
- Simply relating heavily to or identifying WITH a character – these are referred to as synpaths
- Choosing characters you like to be your kintypes that’s not how it works unless you legitimately believe you are/were them
Things to note:
- Identifying with and relating to your kintypes is fine – your kinship is valid as long as there is a sense that you are or were them
- Same thing goes for being a lot like them or nothing like them at all – once again, as long there is a sense of being them or having been them
- Fictives – fictional introjects in systems – are not the same thing
as kin – if you do not have headmates/DID/OSDD please do not call your
kintypes fictives (fictives CAN have kintypes though)
