Kintypes are not consciously and actively chosen and cannot be dropped, avoided, or given up with any real success. However, copinglinks are identities with some overlapping experiences (identification as nonhuman/fictional/etc) that can be chosen, often to cope with neurodivergence/mental illness/trauma/etc, as the name suggests. One is not better than the other. They are simply *different experiences* hence why they have different words. It’s okay not to be otherkin. It’s okay to be a copinglinker. It’s also okay to be both, or neither. <3 All alterhuman identities are equally as important as each other.
