Spam gardening

For those of you who have been having problems with spambots in the kin tags (or any other popular tags) I finally found a stopgap solution.

New Xkit stopped being able to block them a while ago, but thankfully it appears tumblr savior can still block them, if you install it and blacklist g/ags()4()f/un(.)cl/ub /m/e()m/e(.)pi()nk and y/ou()tu/m()blr(.)cl/ub.

Good luck and happy browsing guys.

(URLs obfuscated to avoid deletion. Just take out everything that isn’t letters or a dot.)

@fromfiction Do you think you could walk me through how to do this? I’m not very tech savvy. If it isn’t too much trouble.

@acx-e

Here’s the step by step for you!

  • First go to this link: http://bjornstar.com/tumblr-savior
  • Click on the download of tumblr savior for chrome, safari, opera, or firefox. You’ll have to use one of these browsers for this to work.
  • Follow the instructions to install tumblr savior.
  • Once tumblr savior is installed, open it, and you should see a collumn on the left called ‘black list’
  • Under black list, in the empty spaces, add the urls from the above post, without the slashes and parentheses in them.
  • Once you’ve added them all, click save.
  • You’re done! Your browser should now be spam free!
