what’s really cute is the white tumblrkin here will tell us, people of color, that people can only be kin with characters of their own race. I’m not even gonna go into the loopholes that they go through to make sure they don’t even have to abide by their own rule. but their own logic falls apart. “that character’s oppressed so you don’t know their oppression” alright. you got your idea from transphobic, racist white girls, but okay.
I have to only be kin with characters in my race. you know, race, the thing that has no biological standing at all and is only used to oppress people of color. that thing.
let’s pretend I was 100% Blackfoot, so 100% Native American. So I would only be able to be kin with characters that were from my tribe. See those anywhere? me neither. “but we said race!” alright. you see any Native American characters anywhere? even if I did they wouldn’t be in my tribe. the implication that all people of the same race go through the same thing is either a denial of history or pure ignorance. Cherokee people and Blackfoot people went through different things. Google it.
I’ve already broken down how people on here think that being kin with someone is a conscious choice. but I’ll say it again: it’s not and if you think so you’re otherhearted or copinglink, not otherkin/fictionkin.
