Stop calling otherkin “transpecies(ism)”
I just… cringe every time I hear someone use that word. Granted nine times out of ten it’s some stupid anti-kin who thinks that’s what we actually call ourselves, but honestly, just stop. Otherkin, anti-kin, misinformed individual, I don’t care who you are but it’s just cringe.
As someone who is part of the LGBTQ+ community, it just irks me to no end. Otherkin has absolutely nothing to do with being trans-anything, so why use a term that makes the whole idea of otherkin sound like a mockery of people who are transgender? It’s as offensive as that whole “transethnic” stuff.
Otherkin =/= Transpecies (whatever the hell that’s even supposed to mean).
We’re as human as everyone else on the surface anyways for fuck’s sake.
As a transperson I agree with this.
