P-shifting is fake. Completely fake. It doesn’t matter how often they claim to shift. It doesn’t matter what reason they give for being unable to show video. P-shifting is fake. All I have to say on that.
If you have chosen to be kin, you are not kin. Simple as that. This doesn’t make you a lesser person, it just doesn’t make you kin. If you’re doing this to cope, good on you.
If you are tagging art as kin against the artist’s wishes, don’t. It’s rude. Don’t be rude. Simple as that.
Speaking of choosing kin, no, being kin with a character outside of your race isn’t racist. If people claim to be offended by your non-chosen kintype, and you aren’t appropriating another culture, then there’s literally nothing you can do. Don’t be afraid to have a kintype. I mean, if a soul only stuck with one race, mental condition, or other feature, wouldn’t that be discriminatory? There’s no logical reasoning behind it.
