sounds like OSDD-1 imo
Hi anon, I assume you’re responding to this post.
I appreciate the input, but that’s definitely not it.
According to the DSM it must “cause clinically significant distress or impairment in social, occupational, or other important areas of functioning”: This experience doesn’t impair my functioning, or cause any particular distress.
I also don’t experience any dissociation in context with this experience. So, its pretty clearly not a dissociative disorder.
I have this weird feeling we’re going to witness a lot of armchair diagnosis going on here. Which is really unfortunate, because holy shit no, please pay attention to the systems who actually need and want that validation.
Sometimes I’ll even jokingly explain having soulbonds as being haunted, to emphasize what a huge difference there is. In a lot of ways, my bonds move through and interact with the physical plane more than they do my body – my body and mind is just a convenient conduit for them to experience things and communicate more closely, and they could do that with anyone open to them.
And I know I’m not the only one who finds their life improved dramatically by having bonds, so yeah. No blacking out/loss of time, no dissociation related to them, really no negatives at all, except for if they don’t get along with someone we need to be around. Or Grimmjow wants tacos for dinner and I just want him to shove off, lol.
Its kind of funny, when I post about soulbonding all I hear is ‘stop faking DID’ and ‘only disordered people are multiple’. Then when I make a post where I explicitly say ‘this isn’t another person, this is still me’, then someone tries to armchair diagnose me OSDD?
I totally agree with the comparison between having bonds and being haunted. I often make the comparison of being like a medium for fictional spirits.
And yeah, soulbonding is definitely something that’s only ever been a positive influence in my life too, like you said. Aside from the occasional grumbling from someone that they don’t like my room, or want something different to eat, haha.
