I definitely didn’t appreciate the implication that there’s some secret link between kintypes and mental illness, for every kin who is also mentally ill.
Sometimes there is just no link, period. I’d still be who I am even if I didn’t have depression and anxiety. I know kin with personality disorders who whose kintypes are not influenced by those disorders at all.
Genuine kin and therians whose kintypes stem from trauma, illness, or neurodivergency still can’t chose those kintypes. So. Nah. Miss me all day with that whole mess, which was actually pretty fuckin ableist. As if every nonhuman who gives a shit about the communities is just a group of perfect neurotypicals scheming for 50 years to make mentally ill people feel bad. Good lord
