is it bad that i started calling my kintypes IDs instead? i still call them kins and IDs interchangeably but my page has the word ID whereas my old blog said kin, but it seems like the general consensus now is that ID is for coping-IDs and idk if i should just call mine kin exclusively then or what, mine aren’t purely coping bc they’re also past lives even though i do consider them partly for coping
I’m not here to tell you what you can and can’t do, and it’s not a matter of it being “bad” – but if you’re kin, then calling it something different doesn’t make much sense, and can only confuse other people who don’t understand quite as well. I don’t think ID is exclusively taken by those with voluntary coping identities, although imo that would be preferred. Either way, otherkin and fictionkin terminology exists to define specific things about us. Maybe if you explain why you prefer ID to kintypes, it’ll make more sense to me.
