If people don’t pick and choose kintypes, then why do you say you’re questioning being mermaidkin? Shouldn’t you know if you are or not? Plus, while I agree there’s a lot of the ocean that’s undiscovered and we don’t know about, mermaids have not yet been proven to be real. (Note, I don’t hate people who’re kin with anything, I’m only curious.)
Because it takes time to figure out what you are kin with. Basically what you’re saying is the OPPOSITE of your argument. If people could choose kintypes, they’d know immediately. Because we don’t choose, it takes time. We have to figure out from certain clues like memories and crap what we are. For example, because of my recent memories from the oven, for all I know I was just a fish or something. I can’t know for sure. Which is why it’s called “questioning” rather than “deciding if i like this kintype or not” Now, all of you should stop saying “Oh I don’t hate people who are kin I’m just curious” because you literally just tried to invalidate me. You tried to say that because I’m questioning mermaid kin, I’m choosing my kintypes and therefore I’m not “real” so If you could take your little claiming to not be trying to hurt me elsewhere, I’d appreciate it. I’m not some all-knowing goddess. I’m new to being kin. I hardly know how shit works.
