Kinself vs. Kintype

I don’t like the word kintype as applied to fictionkin who are a specific character, because I feel it carries the wrong connotation.

A ‘type’ is a broad category of things. Vriska Serket can not be my kin *type* because Vriska Serket is not really a category of things. On the other hand ‘Troll’ can be my kintype, because its not a specific troll.

Kintype: a species, or non-specific ‘type’ of creature that one is. Elf, wolf, faery, pikachu, digimon, griffon, smurf, etc

Kinself: a specific person that one is. Legolas Greenleaf, Morgana Le Fay, Karkat Vantas, Ash’s Pikachu, Balto the wolf, etc. 

Kinself primarily applies to fictionkin, who are a specific character. However, otherkin who remember their name and specific appearance (if they have one) would also be considered to have a kinself.
