Are there any non-tumblr communities out there I can be a part of?

I recommend incanon.org ‘s forum. Its one of the most active right now, and its quite well moderated, and private. There are a lot of good people on there, and a lot of intelligent discourse.

There are also some other communities out there. I would google ‘fictionkin forum’.
