sometimes people create characters to vent personal emotions/feelings/traits–characters that are literally themselves with exaggerated bits for fun. i did this and had a friend claim to be fictionkin, /literally/ my character. i’m not okay with that seeing as the character is literally manifest creation of myself. do you believe someone can be ‘literally me’? even though they’re the fucking opposite of my personality?

Your friend should stop being a douchebag. If he or she doesn’t understand why this is distressing for you, then you need to get a new friend.

That said, its entirely possible your friend IS kin of this character you created. But its also extremely unlikely, and more likely they’re doing it for your attention, or to get your goat. Even if it is true, they are not handling it in a mature way. You are absolutely right to be upset.
