Something came to mind that reinforces the importance of differing terms: I’m otherkin (spiritually), and have at various points been what you define as ‘fictionheir’. My fictional identities have never felt spiritual, and tended to shift with time. This made me feel fake in comparison to those whose identities had a strong spiritual basis–I’ve never known if I belonged in the community. Separating the concepts can better help people understand what they are.
