tbh whenever people say things like “they kinned with this character”,”don’t kin with this character” etc. it makes me feel uncomfortable. like they way they’re using kin like a verb makes it sound like you can choose who you’re kin with and you really can’t? that’s probably just me but ughhh idfk

Tbh, as someone who’s anti self-dx AND kin, I have no clue why some anti self-dxers don’t like kin. Beliefs have nothing to do with medical shit so the two really shouldn’t correlate, but I’ve noticed the same pattern :T

Why is is the same people who hate self-dxers are often the first to call ‘kin beliefs a mental illness? “Fictionkin” is not an illness in the DSM. It consequently isn’t even diagnosable as an illness by a trained medical professional, let alone someone on the internet.

It may be because their worldview centers around not only attaching medical diagnoses to beliefs and personality traits, but receiving ‘permission’ for these beliefs and traits…

i think i may be fictionhearted but i’m not entirely sure? especially because the character i think i am fictionheart/ed (?) with is my own OC… i have a really deep connection to him (that isn’t romantic or sexual or anything) and i have a rlly strong desire to be him.. also i’m a maladaptive daydreamer and this OC is my ‘idealised self’. i have avpd and saw that self-deserting behaviour is common, which i do, and i sort of feel like i’m constantly trying to ‘role play’ almost as my OC (1)
