sanglumiere: honestly? my advice to everyone is to not worry about what is canon and what is not. Just worry about what you remember and…

i’ve only learned about fictionkin recently from some friends who are kin for characters that i know, but as i started reading more about it, i felt really…. relieved? i don’t know if that’s the right word, but the things that people are describing sound familiar and i find myself getting excited whenever it’s mentioned but… i still don’t know if i really am fictionkin… is there someone who i can talk to about this, just to be sure? sorry for the awkward phrasing…

Only you will ever be really sure if you are fictionkin or not. Honestly, most of the members of the community I know still have…

Hi! So, I’ve been reading up on fictionkin vs fiction-hearted, and I was wondering if I could get your input on something? Based on what I’ve read, my feelings fall somewhere in between the two terms. I have no memories and no dysphoria (related to the character) and the majority of my feelings can be summed up by a strong, fundamental connection to the character, but even as a child before i was introduced to him I showed some of his traits that aren’t exactly common. Thoughts, if you want?

I suppose my thoughts are that from what you’ve said, it does sound more like fiction-hearted. Lack of memories doesn’t always mean you’re not kin,…

do you have any tips for being fiction/otherhearted in the otherkin community? are we welcome there? i’m fictionhearted with a character that i feel so deeply connected to i really do feel as if i am them, but i chose the character myself due to realizing my huge connection with them, and don’t have the memories of it being a past life like actual other/fictionkin so i’m kinda looking into my identity right now. thank you!

Interesting question! The fiction-hearted/otherhearted community is an evolving one, and I’m not sure anyone quite knows how we all ‘fit together’ as a larger community of…

I’m sending this on anon, since my mainblog is very separate from my kin stuff- I just wanted to thank you for posting about soulbonding. I’ve had bonds for a while now, and they are /very/ close to me, but they weren’t kin, nor were they headmates, and facets didn’t feel like the right word either, so I ended up calling them brainmates. Everything you’ve described with soulbonds though, has hit my experience right on the nose. So, thank you, from the bottom of my, and my bonds, hearts

I’m so glad you found a term that rings true to your experience! Soulbonding is really a fascinating experience and a deep part of my…
