i’ve only learned about fictionkin recently from some friends who are kin for characters that i know, but as i started reading more about it, i felt really…. relieved? i don’t know if that’s the right word, but the things that people are describing sound familiar and i find myself getting excited whenever it’s mentioned but… i still don’t know if i really am fictionkin… is there someone who i can talk to about this, just to be sure? sorry for the awkward phrasing…

Only you will ever be really sure if you are fictionkin or not. Honestly, most of the members of the community I know still have days where we question our identities and our truths. We call ourselves fictionkin because that is the label that fits best for our internal experiences. 

Only you will ever be able to know what’s in your heart and mind. It can never be more real to anyone else than it is to you. Your identity is something that you have to explore, and come to terms with and your understand of it can and will change and grow with you. 

That said, its easier to explore yourself, and your truth with a community of people who understand the path that you’re on. 

For those of you who are just awakening, just coming into your understanding of your self, and questioning whether or not you are fictionkin, and if so, who you are kin of, I urge you to be part of the community. To join the discussion. Don’t be afraid to voice the things that you’re experiencing.

And don’t be afraid to voice it when you come to a new understanding of yourself. Its okay to think you’re one thing for a while, and then realize that you were actually something different. No one will fault you.

And if they do, I will bite them.
