About tagging art as me I don’t understand because I don’t do this as otherkin but because i identify with a character, same as other fandom people tagging as my son, my husband, my child, etc. I thought this was the same as tagging with your love for a character so I’m so confused, I was happy to see that in fandom you can tag your love and fascination for a character or show and I thought tagging me was another way to do this, not a kin thing. I see non kin doing that too with fanart.

its still rude to tag someones personally created fan art of media characters as kin or me. Wouldn’t it be much smarter to avoid that all together and tag the art as the characters name instead. It would still allow you to look back at the pictures and also avoid making the artist uncomfortable.

as someone whos fictionkin, i can sort of see why people dislike it when people tag their art as kin… i asked an artist who dislikes it and they way they described it was that they put their heart and soul into their art, and to see someone claim its their heart and soul feels like its being claimed as their own. to me it sort of sounded similar to when people who are kin arent comfortable seeing doubles of themselves. and i sympathize with that feeling… as long as its not because (1)
