i’m an alter in a professionally diagnosed DID system. also it’s possible (and actually very common, it’s called imitative DID) to mistakenly believe you’re multiple when you’re not. so personal experience is not evidence.

Hey anon, I don’t know whats so hard to understand about healthy multiplicity. You do realize that scientific studies (and by extension the mental health field) is a method by which humans are trying to understand the world, and by no means at all do we fully understand the human brain. We are still discovering new breakthroughs in these fields.

multiplicity only happens when a person has undergone trauma, and is not the natural state of the mind. that is, by definition, a disorder. if nothing happened to make a personality not integrate, it integrates. you literally cannot be a multiple if you have an integrated personality because the term implies that your personality isn’t integrated.
