I use both ID and kin – I consider my ID to be a kintype but not all my kintypes are IDs. For me, I have a belief that I am an alternate version of a character, that I am literally living my life as that character- that’s my ID. My other kintypes are all past lives and not considered IDs to me.

Interesting!

I think the confusion around the ID/kin thing could be that ID can mean “my identity/this is me” and “I identify with”

I think that’s *part* of the confusion.

for the anon that uses “ID” instead of “Kin/Me” in tags- I use the kins name eg If I were kin with Superman I’d tag something “for clark”

I thought that might be the case. However I do see some people using it interacting with kin and the kin tag. Hmm.

I use id as I strongly identify with this but I’m not necessarily kin with it, I was using to replace it the me and kin tag that are more obvious. Apparently this could be misunderstood, I’m running out of ideas.

Thank you for the input! I thought this may be the case for some people.

I always thought that people use the term “ID” rather than “kin” if they’re copingkin.

bitcheshavebirthdays: fromfiction: That was my impression as well. In which case I encourage it wholeheartedly ^^ That would be a very strange distinction if so.…

(Sorry I sent in my last ask too early, so I’m going to retype it) I use the term main ID to mean the kintypes I identify with most? Like, some of my kintypes are ‘yeah that’s me’ but then there are the ones that are literally me, and I call them my main IDs.

Thanks for the resend 🙂 This is interesting to hear. I wonder how many others also use it this way? I am curious because I…

What is the difference between fictive and “id”? Is there even one?

Good question! To start with, a fictive is specifically a headmate or alter. They are a member of a multiple collective or system. As for…
