The first time the term fictionkin was used

So I’ve been going through the old communities, and I pulled up the first time the term ‘fictionkin’ was ever used.

It was coined by “flyboy_fox” on 

2007-09-24 23:53:00, so almost exactly eight years ago. If you look in the thread, I’m the person going by “overlord_mordax” which was my handle at the time.

I was just wondering about the name of this community and how many people actively want to change it. A lot of us have mentioned at times how the name is actually based on a pretty derisive term, and, more to the point, isn’t an accurate description anyway. It definitely implies a connection with only Japanese-based media (particularly animé), and ‘otaku’ certainly isn’t a compliment 😛

Anyway, the point I’m making is that there’s been a lot of talk about changing our ‘name’ to something broader and more neutral, such as “fictionkin” or “mediakin”, but do you guys seriously want to rename the community?
