Definition:

Cerebrumalius – A person who believes their non-human identity is caused by a brain quirk (a psychological non-human)

Cerebrumalia – the idea or belief that non-human identities may be caused by brain quirks

Usage examples:

Cerebrumalius: “I identify as a dragon cerebrumalius, because I believe my dragon identity is caused by my brain”

Cerebrumalia: “Cerebrumalia makes more sense to me than believing I’m a reincarnated tiger, because I am not spiritual”

Cerebrumalia is:

  • a belief
  • related to how one believes their brain functions
  • a term that may be used to replace “psychological otherkin”, “psychological therian”, “psychological fictionkin”, etc.
  • a term anyone identifying psychologically AS a non-human may use to describe themselves

Cerebrumalia is not:

  • a mental illness
  • a coping mechanism
  • a spirituality (i.e. anything involving souls or reincarnation)
  • a religion
