How can you tell the difference between being fictionkin and being fictionhearted if both involve strong spiritual/psychological connections?

nonhumanity-and-nonsense:

fromfiction:

Fictionkin discover who they are through experiences like homesickness, species/image dysphoria, supernumerary phantom limbs, residual scarring/pain, kin memories, missing abilities, unexplained fears or urges, etc.

Fictionhearted people feel a kind of spiritual or psychological connection to a character that is not limited to that type of experience. They may or may not consider the person/creature they are fictionhearted of their identity, full or partial, whereas fictionkin literally are/were their kinself.

Chiming in to say that the experience, from both my own observations as well as conversations with others, seems to be very much a yearning feeling. You are SO VERY NEARLY the thing that its ridiculous and frustrating and its definitely a part of you, you just…aren’t quite that thing.
