As a spiritual fictionkin, what role do you think the author/creator/actor plays in your life? Do they deserve immense respect?
Personally I believe in the ‘multiverse theory’, that we exist inside a multiverse comprised of an infinite number of varying universes, such that for any possibility, there is a universe where that happened. Thus, I do not believe that authors have caused their creations to come into being- but rather coincidentally written fiction which resembles another reality. I do not believe that the authors knew what they were writing was a reality either, merely that every story that COULD be written already exists.
With that in mind, I do not offer the author of my canon, or either of the voice actors of my kin identity’s character any special veneration. If others think that their canon’s author, actor, or creator deserves veneration, then I neither advocated it nor argue against it. However, I will once again speak out AGAINST fictionkin contacting the creators of their canons in any way, other than as simple fans.
As a writer myself I believe that all authors deserve respect and admiration for their craft, regardless of whether one believes their ideas were original, or whether one believes they called universes into being. Writing a piece of fiction is a great labor, and deserved to be recognized.
That said, for me specifically, even if I believed The Author was someone to venerate, there is no one for me to do so. Digimon Adventure was created by a soulless marketing team. Alas.
