If a character arises that you know you may be kin to, is it normal to begin having the same interests as the character in question? Say, if the character speaks a different language or likes a certain genre of books, you find yourself also interested in learning how to speak the same language and read the same types of book, is that any indication that you might be kin or is it just subconscious faceclaiming?

Its more likely that having the same interested as a character *before* knowing of that character would be an indication that you were kin.

Emulating a character deliberately (picking up traits of a character after exposure to them) is more like being fiction-hearted.

That’s not to say that kin don’t pick up the habits of their previous selves sometimes. But picking up the traits of a character after being exposed to them isn’t an indication that you’re kin.
