I was hoping you could clarify something for me. There’s this one character that I identify very strongly with and have since the moment I was introduced to him. We’re extremely similar, so much so that I would say our energies align, and that if there was a modern-day AU written about that character, he would probably be exactly like me. Is this fictionkin, or fiction-hearted?

Tough call. From what I’ve heard, this sounds a little like what psychological identified fictionkin experience. But that is not my area of expertise.

From my experience what it comes down to is if you feel that that character is you, and you are the character, in some very base way. That’s fictionkin. That IS you. You identify AS them.

On the other hand if you’d say you’re LIKE them, rather than ARE them, I’d say that’s fiction-hearted.
