if someone is kin with an anime character and is white and they use the name of their kintype as their name, is that racist?

I assume you’re asking me if its ‘racist’ for a white person to go by a Japanese name. (There are lots of anime characters that don’t have Japanese names, I’d like to point out.)

I don’t think its racist for a white person to go by a Japanese name. However, I think its slightly cringe-worthy. People will constantly ask you about it, and why you go by it. Its probably more hassle than its worth, but if it seems worth it to you, then go for it.

When I was 14 I had all my friends call me ‘Bunny’, because I loved Sailor Moon, and at the time, wanted to be her.  (She’s still one of my top idols). The thing is? Everybody DID call me Bunny. ALL. THROUGHOUT. HIGHSCHOOL. And after. 

I have friends who still call me Bunny now, and I’m 30 and I look like a big butch dude.
