Hi! I saw you mention conceptkin and I wanted to offer my piece if that’s okay! I agree that object-, time-, and titlekin aren’t possible, but I believe conceptkin is. It’s up to the individual’s beliefs of course, but I’ve felt for a while now that different concepts have different “energies” about them if that makes sense? For example I identify as neonkin. I see neon as being very high energy and I feel that my soul “vibes” on the same frequency if that makes sense. I said that twice sorry;;;

Neonkin anon again, sorry! But I wanted to add that I do have shifts to this kintype, where I feel extremely high energy and feel the need to listen to a certain type of music, and I almost expect my body to start glowing from the inside. I *feel* like the physical embodiment of neon during these times. Thank you for listening, even if you disagree! c:

It sounds like you have a very interesting experience, and I’m honestly fascinated to read about it. I don’t know if I would necessarily call it ‘kin’ but I can’t think of a better word for it either, so fair enough. It sounds like something you feel deeply about and have a lot of experience with, and are very sincere in your believe, which is always something that I admire.

When I say ‘I don’t believe in conceptkin or objectkin etc, I’m not seeking to invalidate people’s sincere experiences. What I’m looking to do is make sure that people understand the meaning of the words they’re using, and the experiences that they imply. ‘Objectkin’ and ‘conceptkin’ come under fire mainly because they have become a tool of anti-kin and parody blogs in order to make fun of legitimate kin. ‘Oh, I believe I’m a chair! sit on me!’ Its ridiculous, its infuriating, and its not kin.

On the other hand if I met someone who had spent 3 years of their life contemplating their identity, exploring their spirit and mental state, etc, and really, earnestly and sincerely believed that their internal truth was that they were somehow a chair, I would respect that, and believe them, and their identity. However I would still say ‘chairkin don’t exist’ for the same reason we say things like ‘nobody wants to have their hand cut off’. There are exceptions, but a general ‘rule’ is useful.
