How can you tell fabricated memoriesemotions from real ones?

This one is way above my pay grade, but I’ll answer it anyway. This is in no way a ‘professional’ answer, just my personal opinion.

In my opinion, you personally are the only one who can decide if your memories are real or fabricated, in any case where they don’t directly contradict with external reality. I personally evaluate my kin memories for consistency with my other memories, for intensity/emotional impact, for what senses are included in the memory, and for if the memory is the same every time I examine it.

However, in my opinion, worrying excessively whether memories that do not conflict with external reality are ‘real’ or not is unhealthy. Note that I said excessively. Its very important to examine your kin memories and decide if they’re real to you. Its very bad to obsess over whether your kin memories are ‘valid’ or ‘real’ in some external provable way.

In my opinion, any experience/memory you have is real to you, especially if it doesn’t conflict with external reality. At the end of the day we are all brains sitting around in mobile vats of meat, connected to the world by what we perceive. Our perception IS our reality.
