This is probably gonna sound dumb, but is it a kin thing to get like really intense secondhand embarrassment from a character? I have a lot of strong feelings involving one character and I’m trying to analyze how I feel critically but have a hard time because of mental illness don’t know what normal thinking is like at all.

Secondhand embarrassment on behalf of your kinself is something that a lot of kin experience. My fiancee and I personally experience a lot of it. I will admit I cringe just about every time I see Ken Ichijouji on screen doing anything.

That said, you can secondhand embarrassment for a character without being kin of them. I would ask myself if the embarrassment would be as strong if it wasn’t *that* character doing things.
