is it a common thing to get memories and stuff from fanworks? like, fanfiction and things like that. i read a fic for one of my fickintypes recently and it felt like i was hit with a serious case of deja vu, like i was reading a description of something that happened to me, but this only happened once i’d gotten to a certain part of the fic

Fanworks can definitely trigger memories and feelings, especially if they capture something that was meaningful to you. It doesn’t necessarily mean that you’re kin specifically from that fanfic, but remember that everyone’s ‘canon’ experiences are different, and its okay for you to have memories and experiences that contradict the official story here on earth.
